Hi, I’m Chelsie!

I completed a Bachelor of Health Sciences majoring in anatomy and physiology at Latrobe university as well as completing a Bachelor of Speech and Language sciences/Master in Speech Pathology at Victoria University. During my clinical placements, I worked with paediatric and adult clients across schools, community health, hospital and private practice settings. These experiences allowed me to work with individuals with diverse communication needs and develop a flexible and tailored approach to therapy.

I have been with Words in Motion for several years now. I started working with the team as an AHA, which gave me valuable real-world clinical experience while still studying and enabled me to build a strong foundation for my career as a speech pathologist. 

I enjoy being part of a supportive and like minded team that is passionate about making a difference. As a clinician I pride myself in building strong relationships with clients and their families. I take a person centered approach to therapy, focusing on understanding each individual's strengths, interests, goals and communication needs.

Through my clinical experiences, I have developed a particular interest in speech sound disorders and AAC. I am passionate about helping children develop their functional communication skills and supporting them to communicate in ways that are meaningful to them. 

Outside of the clinic or studying I enjoy spending time with my friends, going on nature walks and travelling.
